Roads, Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure

This department oversees the construction and maintenance of public works such as roads and bridges in the county, and provides technical consultancy services. They manage the county’s transport system, license vehicles, and maintain bus terminuses. They also supervise the construction of government buildings, assess transport charges for government officers, and perform valuation and occupational testing of drivers and plant operators for resale, security, insurance, and loan purposes.

Mission

The department exists ‘to provide efficient, safe, affordable and reliable infrastructure for sustainable economic growth and development through construction, modernization, rehabilitation and effective management of all infrastructure facilities’.

 

Vision

The department envisions becoming ‘a world class provider of cost-effective, efficient and safe physical infrastructure facilities and services’.
